How it works

Self-adhesive vinyl (SAV) has it all. Not only does it look great, its affordable and versatile, and it’s EASY to apply. Follow this guide and see how easy it really is!

First of all we take your artwork files.

The file needs to be in a scalable vector format, either an AI, EPS, SVG or PDF file.

A vector illustrator file creates a scalable digitable path which the blade in the vinyl cutter will follow to create the cut in the vinyl sheet around your image.

If you need help with anything file related we are happy to assist you - and if needs be we will convert them into a vector format.

Your file is then sent to the Vinyl cutter.

Cut vinyls are produced by running a self-adhesive roll of coloured vinyl through a vinyl cutter (sometimes refered to as a plotter).
The cutting blade makes an incision through the vinyl but not through the backing paper.

After cutting a 'weeding' process is required, using a weeding tool, to remove the parts of the vinyl not needed. Then what is left is the artwork to be used.

The finished vinyl is supplied with an application/mounting sheet covering for easy installation.

Once the design
is cut, the excess vinyl is weeded away.

Application Guide

The vinyl on the application sheet is now ready to install onto your van, window, wall etc
In most situations we will install your graphics for you.

The area the vinyls are to be placed are cleaned first to remove dirt and residue.
Then your graphics are ready to stick to your chosen spot.

The crucial thing in applying vinyl is that the measurements and alignments are correct before you stick them down!

The graphics are placed by tape which allows the installer the chance to check alignments and reposition accordingly. Then when happy with placement the application paper, with the vinyls on, can be peeled away from the backing sheet.
With a large image it may require the surface to be wet before application.
Then from the top, using a plastic squeedgee, push the application paper down and across in a consistant line.

Then finally the application paper can be pulled off and 'hey presto' your Vinyl Graphic!
